Young un's...

Monday, 13 June 2011
A little family residing in the end shed has nearly grown up... Please excuse the fuzzy picture but Mr F had to shine his pocket torch on them and snap the picture at the same time without frightening them. They were very patient... We worried that the flash could damage their eyes because the shed is very dark usually...
Home is full of youngsters being taught how to fly by exasperated parents... Now why does that ring a bell?!
And more little fluffy bundles, though this time they refused to keep still. Littlest took this picture for me! The old white Banty sat 6 eggs that came in the post and hatched 4. Such a devout Mother she is so proud of her little family. There are 3 mottled black and one white and buff. I think they are Maran crossed with something else but I cant remember the something else... chicken I expect.

And finally on a feathered and furred update in Fairysteps Land...
All 3 Ponies continue to do well but are sick of flying teeth at this time of year and dreaming of November...
Mr Fairysteps was given a new swarm again, so he is chuffed as punch that he has bees again. The new hive is up in the Orchard so we can keep an eye on them, and go for a chat, as you should with bees...
Cats are all well and 'enjoying' all of the young un's, but not like we do. There has been MUCH telling off...
We have had 2 dull weeks of weather and heavy rain yesterday with scattered showers previously which has greened things up no end. BUT alas, its going to take weeks of rain to bring our water back up to a decent level.

And finally on a work note...
Mr F installed a strip light (ugly but highly effective) in my Studio / Workshop yesterday so I can now work day and night without stopping. I feel like a deep litter hen... egg (shoe / bags) production could be phenomenal.

Have a good week everyone!
