The Christmas Mrs Cratchit Shawl...

Wednesday, 29 December 2010
Having rather more than a few balls of merino dk left in various states of incompleteness I took up my hook...
Inspired by my previous bunting production... it dawned on me that I could infact just keep making that crochet triangle bigger and bigger and bigger...
Only working solid trebles on every fourth row kept everything light (and more to the point made it grow MUCH faster...)
A quick whip round the edge with a row of scallops in a creamy oatmeal and the shawl was complete! BUT Mrs Cratchit is not having this shawl because I am...
Its my flu recovery medicine...
I do believe its working already...

  1. Ren how do you do this? Do you do this by a pattern? My you have nimble fingers! Please tell me?

  2. You're making me want to pick up my crochet hooks...alas, it is really NOT the weather for it here! Glad to hear you're recovering from the flu, not a nice way to spend Christmas at all!

  3. so glad you are feeling better.
your pictures of the snow were beautiful~i love the one of you and your boots :)

the shawl has inspired me to finish the one i am making for my sister and actually make something for myself!

  4. i had to come back to ask a question.
its been bugging while i was working on my sisters shawl and in the parts of the night i was awake!
i have never come across 'solid' trebles before~are these just regular trebles and the other stitches...half treble?
you can tell i have not been at this long!
